  • 1 cup warm water (105 degrees F)
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 to 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour *
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt

  • Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). Place a pizza stone in the oven and let it warm for at least 10 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar, then stir.
  • Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Gently stir in the olive oil.
  • Add 2 cups of flour and salt, mixing with a spatula until a sticky dough ball forms, adding more flour if needed.
  • Transfer to a floured surface and knead into a smooth dough, using up to ½ cup extra flour as necessary.
  • Optionally, cover the bowl with a damp tea towel and let the dough rise for 10 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Roll the dough into your desired shape and place it on parchment paper.
  • Add your favorite pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  • Using a pizza peel, transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone.
  • Bake on the preheated pizza stone for 11-14 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Remove the pizza with the pizza peel and cool on a wire rack for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

The amount of flour may vary slightly based on humidity; adjust as needed to achieve a smooth, elastic dough. Ensure your yeast is active for the best rise.
