Instructions

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and gather all your ingredients.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth, then beat in the egg, orange juice, and zest until well blended.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined before folding in cranberries and walnuts.
  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, ensuring about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  • Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, rotating halfway through, until the edges are golden, then transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
  • While the cookies cool, prepare the glaze by mixing confectioners' sugar, orange juice, and zest in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Once the cookies are completely cool, spread the glaze over their tops and allow it to set before serving.

Notes

For an extra crunch, don't skip the chopped walnuts. Ensure cookies are completely cool before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting.
